This is a bit of a special post today, I am looking for some way to support my artistic and photographic production, being retired has some really nice advantages but also some drawbacks, namely the $$$ aren’t coming as it used to be…:D So I have to tackle what was always my weakest point I am pretty sure of that for me…selling and marketing…:)

As you can see, I did start some ‘reconstruction’ work on these pages on my main repository site JMR-ART.com on Square Weebly, I think my subscription to WordPress would also allow me to set up a boutique, have to see the details about that, also as this post’s title is suggesting, I thought that some of my followers and readers do have some insights on this aspect, so any comments or suggestions would be most welcome, or if it is just to say ‘ It is a hell of a good idea, go for it’….would be okay too….:D

As for prices for the works that will be made available, under digital format only, it will be around what I would get if selling something through my existing onlines shop on Fine Arts America and Redbubble, there may be also some ‘physical’ works available, have to see about that, for now digital format is much easier for me…

But of course, the only real reason about all that fuss is that Maya cost me a lot in food, toys and veterinary follow up…:D

Thank you!
FIRST
Thank you for the lovely Twitter message about my Bob Dylan drawing.
I log in about once every 3 weeks, so I will thank you again when I’m on there.
Selling art is not easy, as I have learned.
Digital art …. not much money, but volume would make up.
WP does allow us to sell original product, and they have a PayPal button for that. No middleman fees!
« Adding a PayPal button in WordPress is quite simple. Obtain the HTML code for your button, which is done from the official PayPal website. Once you have the code for your button, log in to your WordPress admin area and go to Posts > Add New. Switch from Visual to HTML and paste the code for your PayPal button there. »
Even I can do that.
WP ONLY allows us to sell our own original output.
After that, I suggest checking into « Society Six ». Your images early in your painting process and Nebula paintings would work well on their products.
They also sell prints of finished pieces.
The old way: having shows, promoting in the (snobby) art world, selling originals, getting press, etc. is still the real $$ way for fine art. xo
Thank you Resa, never had much success in trying in the real Art World, not much also when I was an engineer with the engineering world in one of my previous carreer, I guess I am not good at getting known by the right people, both share the snobby attitude, maybe I just don’t get along with such people…:D
Bought one of my own piece, at a low discount price, on my site with Weebly, now Square, did want to check how it would turn out…so my first sale, from me to me…:D
Will check the place you have mentioned, I am not expecting much return but I do already pay for services I don’t use so far, may as well try them out…
Thanks for your input, and I hope to see more of your drawings, the Bob Dylan’s one was very good, you have so many talents, good for us to look at them…:)
Take care! xo
S6 used to have a great « free » deal. I know they’ve changed, but how – I don’t know.
Okay you take care too, dear JMR! xoxo
