A first photo of a sketch from the second life model session I am taking this fall, last sessions were 5 years ago, quite a long time without drawing, this is from a 20 min poses from the second week, each session is 3 hours long, with poses varying from a minute to 20 approximatively. I had forgotten that a 3 hours session, with 2 hours to and from the workshop on public transportation and walking is taking quite a bit physically from me, especially that I do like working standing at the easel, or maybe it is only that I am too old now and the back not so good anymore…but I will keep going this way, should get better…:D At the end of this session, the model was quite interested looking at my sketches, she wanted to take photos, I said please do but maybe you would like to have one for yourself as a gift, finally I took this pic and gave her this one, a 20 min pose, I hope she did find a good place for this sketch…

I was taking those sessions quite regularly, maybe not each year, but almost, but with the covid and some others things, I have been 5 years without drawing from life models, the last session was in 2019, yes a bit rusted, but I think I am shaking it off quite rapidly now, the drawing skills are still there not too far, the physical shape is taking longer to come back it seems..:D So now I should get moving, taking pics of thoses sketches already becoming quite numerous and present in this blog all or at least some selection…I don’t know, I am retired but it seems that my work rythm has kind of slowed down quite a bit….I guess retirement does make you a bit more relax, maybe a bit too much in some cases…:D
OH MY! Jean Marc!
This is fantastic!
This is your forte.
I hope you don’t put this into tablet art. It’s real art at its finest.
Of course you do what you want. Don’t listen to me.
This kind of art is what collectors look for.
xoxox
I may do some sketches inspired by some of them, like I tried a few times on canvas, but generally I cannot ‘translate’ the raw feeling of a sketch made in the Studio…when I moved to the new appartment…I made about 60 rolls of sketches, with an average of 50 each, so I guess I have around 3000 of them, and I did some screening before, so I must have thrown away over decades twice the amount….but for the most part they will never see light I guess…I don’t think I will come around taking pics of all of them…:D
Crazy! It’s like you should be selling art on the street in Montmartre. xx
Would not mind that, but probably my appartment downeast Montreal is much cheaper than in Paris, anywhere there…but not so many people passing by my street…some school kids but not many…:) Could draw tourists in Montmartre, but I am not so good at portrait, and it might be embarrassing asking them to pose nude…:D
Hahaha!
You know.. even if the person is in clothes, you’d do fab fast gesture drawings. I’m sure of it! xo
