Liz…un peu plus…A bit more…

Quelques jours que le tableau de Liz reste sur le chevalet, passer à un autre, hum je n’aurai pas beaucoup de temps aujourd’hui à peindre, et comme on dit aussi bien battre le fer tandis qu’il est encore chaud, ou dans ce cas-ci, mélanger la peinture sur la toile tandis qu’elle n’est pas complètement séchée….

Been a few days Liz’s painting is on the easel, and I won’t have much time for painting today, so may as well work a bit on it, mixing the fresh paint with the not yet dry one from the last few sessions..

Sur la bonne voie? On her way?

j’aurais peut-être dû la laisser tel quel, perdu un peu puis enfin retrouvé, enfin presque…pas encore tout-à-fait rendu, mais je crois que c’est sur la bonne voie…donc la version de ce soir, dimanche soir, le 16, première neige sur Montréal….

Did rework it, a bad start, almost lost it completely, and got back, not all of it, but it is on the way to ‘recovery’, tonight, Sunday night, the 16 th, here’s this day version, and even if not shown, there is also the first snowfall on Montreal…I like those first time the snow is coming back, chasing the grey ambiance away…so this night version….

Un pas en arrière…A step backward…

C’est ce qui arrive ce soir, samedi, 15 novembre, à ce tableau de Liz Hurley, portant son costume ‘d’Austin Powers girl’…voulu corrigé son visage et comme cela se produit fréquemment, il y a plus de corrections que je ne le croyais, donc un pas en arrière afin de tenter de capter et de rendre son visage à mon goût, plus expressif tout en corrigeant quelques erreurs de dessin…

That’s what did happened tonight, Saturday, November 15 th, wasn’t happy with Liz Hurley face in this painting, the one she’s portrayed as an ‘Austin Powers Girl’, so sort of a back-step, trying to fix her expression and some drawing errors, so far it is more work than I did anticipated…

Un visage difficile à capter….A tough face to get for me….

Comme certaines batailles font rage pendant une longue période de temps, ma ‘bataille’ personnelle dans le but de capter l’expression du visage de Liz continue, et je crois que je vais la gagner cette bataille…:) la dernière version, enfin celle du 19 octobre….mais j’ai aussi une curieuse impression de déjà vu…enfin écrit, et vu….

Not unlike some long lasting conflct, my personnal struggle trying to get Liz face to my liking is still going on, but I think I almost got it now…so another version on this saturday night, october 19….(425-44), but at the same thing I do also have a strange feeling of dejà vu…or in this case already wrote, or seen or both…:)

Et bien sûr je ne saurais présenter cet article sans présenter le diaporama des versions précédentes, pour ceux et celles qui en serait à leur première visite, ou tout simplement ceux et celles qui aiment bien le regarder de nouveau, et aussi la photo de Liz, ceux qui ne me connaissent pas ou peu, oui c’est mon obsessive muse…enfin l’une d’entre elles…:)

And of course I still feel I do have to show the usual slideshow, for newcomers or oldcomers, who still like to view those slideshows…and of course, there is also Liz photo, newcomers don’t know it yet, but it is my obsessive Muse, at least one of them…:) for the oldcomers, you already know that….

Que je n’avais travaillé ce tableau de Liz Hurley, et il me semblait, comme cela m’arrives souvent que quelque chose n’allait pas, je n’étais pas satisfait de son visage, pas sûr que j’aie amélioré la situation, enfin on verra bien plus tard, en attendant la version d’aujourd’hui, 12 octobre….

It seems to me it’s been a long time I did not reworked this painting, Liz Hurley, and as it does often happen, something was bothering me, her face mainly, so I did set to try to get it right, right how, not easy, we’ll see later…

Parfois avec mes tableaux de Liz, je me sens comme un jeune ado, amoureux d’elle, probablement pour cela que je la peins souvent et que je suis rarement tout-à-fait heureux de la manière que je rends son visage, ou tout simplement je ne suis pas un portraitiste…

Sometimes, when painting Liz, and I did it a few times, I do feel like a young adult, in love with his beloved actress and model, maybe that why, seems to me I can’t never paint her really to my satisfaction, or maybe, I am just not a portrait artist…

Voici la suite du tableau commencé samedi, continué toute la journée dimanche…donc pas fait grand chose pour préparer le début de la semaine…pas d’épicerie, pas de vaisselle, place à l’important…peindre.

J’avoue que j’aime bien la tournure qu’il prend ce tableau, il me semble que tout tombe en place rapidement, tant mieux, je me demande même si je ne le terminerai pas là, tout simplement. À voir….

There’s a follow up on this painting started on saturday, kept working on it most of the day, sumday, of course that meant that I did not do any of the things I should normaly do to start the week…no grocery, no dishes, let everything there, just concerning myself with the important thing…painting.

And I must say that so far I’m quite please with the way this painting is going, seems that everything just felt in the right place, no messing around, and  I wonder if I will not sign it, maybe it is already finished, will see…

Une nouvelle? de Liz?

Encore plusieurs journées passées à me dire que je devrais peindre…finalement, je m’y suis mis hier soir, et lorsque je suis ‘en panne’, je me tourne vers une de mes modèles et actrices favorites, d’accord, elle n’est pas vraiment une grande actrice…mais une jolie actrice, et que j’aime bien….Liz Hurley, photographié portant un costume qu’elle revêt dans un film avec Mike Myers, mieux connu sous le nom d’Austin Powers….je pourrais peut-être jouer le rôle du docteur Evil, ou dans ce cas ci d’un artiste-peintre, pas si Evil que cela..qui veut capturer…sa beauté…:)

Je dois préparer les autres photos, mais voici une des premières version, hier soir, et le diaporama des étapes précédentes…gesso, coloré, et les premières ébauches, photographiés aux demi-heures environ….et bien sûr la photo d’Elisabeth….

Still went a few days telling myself, paint, do something, finally came around yesterday, and often, when I’m stucked, I go for one of my favorite ‘muse’, Liz Hurley, great model, actress, ok maybe not one of the best actress…but a very good looking one, and I like her…so in this one she’s wearing an outfit from a film with Mike Myers, better known as Austin Powers, maybe I could figure as the evil doctor or painter in this case…:), trying to capture…her beauty…:)

I have more pictures to prepare, today’s painting session, but here’s a photo of where this painting was last night, and a slideshow, showing the very few first steps, and why not, a picture of Liz…

 

 

Le retour de Liz…

J’avais bien hâte de le retravailler ce tableau, et la plupart du temps je les travaille dans l’ordre qu’ils ont dans l’atlier….lorsque je ne faisais pas cela, certains tableaux restaient ‘en dehors du circuit’ ou j’en commençais d’autres et je me retrouvais avec beacoup trop de choses en cours…donc j’ai patienté…pense que jusqu’à date il va plutôt bien ce tableau, même si j’en suis encore au point où je ‘place’ les éléments, mais pour le moment il me semble être sur la ‘bonne track’ comme on dit par ici…autrement dit il est bien parti…:)

I was eager to work on this painting, most of the time I try to respect an order to work on my paintings and pastels, like a ‘chaîne de montage’…much earlier I wasn’t doing that, and some painting would be left there, not because they weren’t good, just I did prefer working on another, or I would start so many works at the same time, I could barely finish one of five…so for years now, I’m doing that, so I was patient…and so far I’m quite please with the way it started, still lot of work to come, I’m still in the early stages where I’m placing shapes and arranging composition and lights, but so far it is going nice…I think…

Deux autres versions, avec un peu plus d’attention à l’arrière-plan, mais la pose requiert encore du travail ou plutôt du plaisir à peindre, à venir…

Two more versions, started to define a bit more the background, but still need working on her pose, did not get her legs crossing, it is getting there, though still lot of work to do, actually more fun to have painting….:)

Comme mentionné à quelques reprises…je crois, j’ai un peu de difficulté à m’y remettre à la peinture de ce temps-ci, il y a de ces périodes où rien ne vous tente il semble, donc quoi de mieux pour essayer de s’y remettre que de continuer un tableau de ce modèle, actrice Elizabeth Hurley, que j’ai déjà dessiné et peinte, mais à chaque fois que je tombe sur une photo d’elle, j’ai le goût d’en faire un tableau, une de mes ‘muses’…elle ne le sait pas….:)), donc quelques retouches de plus sur ce tableau qui en était à ses toutes premières étapes…la photo du modèle

As I did mentionned a few times already, these days it is tough for me to get going on painting, some of these periods….so maybe working on a painting of one of my favorites or ‘muses’ would do the trick, Elizabeth Hurley, model and actress, is one of my favorite, I like her look, and I did paint or did a pastel of her a few times, seems that every time I stumble upon a picture of her, I do want to paint it or get my pastels…one of my favorite, but she doesn’t know it….:))), so a bit more work on this painting that was in the very early steps, but before the picture of her…
