Not much time on hand to write this post, so no flashy or title that would hook anybody passing by, not much time as well for a description, except this is a version of this painting dating back to last November…more next time, or not..:)
Oui au départ c’était une pose purement imaginaire commencé voilà déjà quelques années, mais depuis peu, j’explore un peu plus mes logiciels qui permettent de poser des modèles, un peu comme jouer avec des poupées..virtuelles…., donc fait une pose et tiré un rendu afin de travailler cette esquisse, en fait j’ai retravaillé les deux, l’esquisse et la nouvelle image qui devait servir de modèle…ce qui donne un effet assez intéressant.
Yes, when I did started this one a few years ago, it was purely imaginary, but since I did start playing around with my virtual models, almost playing with dolls, virtual dolls…I have decided to pose one of those model to reflect the pose I was trying to work on, the image rendered in the software did use as a reference, but then I started modifying the rendering to look more like the sketch I was doing, kind of interesting effect.

Oui je préfère toujours l’esquisse que j’ai faite à partir du fond vide, mais je trouve tout-de-même l’effet du rendu modifié assez intéressant, même si mon intervention dans celle ci reste bien limitée…/ Yes I still do prefer the one I draw from scratch but I am finding the rendering modified or influenced by my ongoing sketch of some interest, of course my intervention on this latter one is kind of limited, but still it is somewhat intriguing…I think.
Une ancienne version, l’installation de l’atelier progresse, j’espère que ce sera fonctionnel au cours de la fin-de-semaine qui vient, un long congé ici au Québec, 2e longue fin de semaine, l’hiver on a Noël et le jour de l’an à une semaine d’intervalle; fin juin on a nos deux fêtes nationales….celle du Québec le 24 juin et le Canada le 1er juillet, quoique en tant que retraité, cela a moins d’importance maintenant, en attendant une vieille version de ce tableau, je mettrai plus d’information sur ce tableau, quoique si vous recherchez le tableau 444…vous aurez les autres articles, donc en attendant une version retravaillée, en voici une vieille, il en reste d’autres, j’y arriverai…dans quelques jours.
An old version, July 20222, the atelier installation is progressing, I am hoping to have it set up over the coming long week-end, in winter time we have Christmas and New year’s day, in summer here in Quebec we have our two national day, for Quebec and Canada at one week interval, some kind of symetry I guess…Since I am now retired, it does not have the same effect as when I was working…well now back to this painting, I will provide more information over the next few versions, that should come over the next few days, in the meantime if you look for any post with tagword 444, you should be able to look into all presented version so far, so here’s the pic taken some time in July 2022…
Un pastel, terminé en septembre 2014, donc bientôt son 10e anniversaire…selon la photo il semblerait que ce soit inspiré de la nébuleuse d’Orion, M 42 de son petit nom, j’aime les nébuleuses, je me sens un peu comme cela, nébuleux…difficile à cerner mais fascinantes, quoique pas sûr, enfin sûr que je ne suis pas si fascinant que cela, sauf pour ma chatte lorsqu’elle est affamée ou en manque de flatteries ou croquettes…bon revenons à nos moutonneuses nébuleuses, peux pas parler de série, incluant un tableau, je pense en avoir 2 ou 3 mais je me dis que ce serait une belle série si je m’y décide…donc en attendant ce pastel de 2014 et la photo du modèle…M 42
A pastel, dating back to 2014, in september it will be 10 years old…from what I have on record it is inspired from a photo of nebulae, otherly known as M 42, no not some kind of cosmic bingo, more like a nomenclature, it is also known as the Orion nebulae, I like, more than like, I am crazy about everything in Astronomy and space…but what I like the most is the evanescence of those nebulea, nebulous like I can be at time, fascinating like would say Spoke..but no I am not that fascinating, except for my cat, when she does need her food, petting or want some treats…..I like to paint and draw them, not much of a serie, not more than 2 or 3 including a quite recent painting, but maybe I should get going on it…in the meantime, a pastel…

Je ne peux dire que c’est une copie, disons que lorsque j’écris inspiré, c’est vraiment le cas….on dirait une fleur, en tout cas c’est nébuleux, ce qui est dans sa nature après tout…
I cannot really say it is just like it, when I wrote that it was inspired, that is quite the case, it can be as well from a flower or something else, so yes this is nebuleous, which after all is in the own nature of a nebulea…
Oui parfois j’ai ‘commis’ des tableaux de ce genre, plus comme pour rire d’une situation plus ou moins personnelle, ou sur la suggestion ou un ‘challenge’ du genre, pourrais tu faire un tableau de cela….c’était voilà plusieurs années, on vivait à quatre en face d’un concessionnaire automobile, et à ce moment là, souvent je cachais des sous-marins dans mes toiles et pastels, un jour j’expliquerai pourquoi, peut-être…:)
Yes sometimes, some of my paintings were a bit on the mockery side, more like somebody would tell me, this place is so ugly, you cannot make something out of it…and for this one in particular, it was a time we were younger, living together a bunch of friend and lot of things were landmark for us of this era, besides I had the habit at this time of adding submarine to my paintings, one day I may wrote something on this…
Je dois avoir une photo prise au moment où j’ai peins ce tableau, mais je ne la trouve plus, donc voici l’imeuble photographié beaucoup plus tard mais en gros cela donne l’idée, pas un joyau architectural de Montréal.
I must have a pic somewhere, but thanks to recently moving, I don’t have it now available for scanning, but thanks to Google, this is the beautiful building we had in front of our porch….an architectural treasure….:) Then it was an automobile dealer

L’angle que j’avais est différent, mais on peut reconnaître le bâtiment, comme mentionné j’étais dans ma période sous-marin…la brochure du resto est même celui d’une chaîne de sous-marin populaire à l’époque, l’auto de livraison, un resto de poulet bbq, qui à l’époque était le principal met de mon alimentation, ainsi que la bouteille de Molson, au mythique voilier comme image, ici remplacée bien sûr par un sous marin, j’en avait fait un jeu pour les amis, combien de sous marin…un indice beaucoup….
The angle of the painting is different, so is the one of the original pic, but we can recognize part of the building, and as I did mentionned, it was my period obsessed by submarines, besides women wearing boots of course…:D So even the restaurant menu is from a popular submarine restaurant then, and the delivery car is from a popular bbq restaurant, which then was my staple meal of my entire alimentation, besides the Molson beer, it was before we had good artisanal and imported beer…this beer was famous for having a sail boat on the label, which of course in this painting was replaced by a submarine…we had a game then running with my friends, to find out how many submarines in the painting, a hint…many….:D
Non, je dois admettre que je ne connais pas sa musique, mais j’aime bien la dessiner, enfin cette interprétation d’une photo, soirée remise d’un prix quelconque…oui je ferais bien peut-être de faire un travail de recherche, mais je me contenterai plutôt de la dessiner, celle ci est la version tablette graphique, car j’ai aussi un tableau, qui pour certaines raisons dont je parlais dans les articles précédents, reste dans l’ombre pour le moment.
No I don’t know her music, know the type, not in my style of music, but I do like drawing from this pic, taken at some music award show some years ago, well my reseach team, I mean me, is not up to the job on this, I prefer drawing her on my tablet than exploring her music. I have also a painting, that for now is resting..until like I wrote in some previous posts, that the atelier is up again and running…well not running but at least be able to provide some space to paint…in the meantime, the digital sketch version….

Un tableau à l’huile, toujours non terminé et non retravaillé, donc oui en attente, en attente de l’atelier qui un jour sera là…en attendant, une photo du tableau qui date de juillet 2022…en attendant…
An oil painting, waiting for the Atelier to be set up again, some day, one of the many in progress, or unfinished business…to be done over when the atelier will be up again, one day…
Toujours problématique cette pose, un peu imaginaire de ce modèle non moins imaginaire, alors je me suis inspiré d’un logiciel de modélisation, qui permet de poser des modèles, Daz Studio…pas vraiment réussi à reproduire la pose, enfin en respectant les limites que le logiciel utiiise afin de faire poser ces modèles, donc solution médiane, plus facile, un virage vers la pose qu’a pris ce modèle, enfin que je lui ai fait prendre pour être plus exact…donc oui un virage, reste à voir si le résultat sera satisfaisant…:)
Was still trying this imaginary model pose, and could not get to where I want to go, so I did use one of my ‘posing’ software, Daz Studio, taking one of the model I do have and tried to reproduce the pose, those software use limits, they can be deactivated, but if you want the model to keep a more or less realistic pose, you are better to keep them on, so since I could not come with a similar pose, I have decided to use the model pose as a reference photo, some king of turn, not a 180 degre one, but still can’t say if this will be a good or wrong one…:)
Je mettrai éventuellement plus d’informations sur ces logiciels de pose et d’animation, quelque chose qui selon moi est entre le dessin bien technique qui a constitué le beurre et le pain de ma ‘carrière’ et la pratique de l’art, qui consomme surtout le pain et le beurre et ne contribue pas beaucoup à l’achat, mais beaucoup plus au plaisir de la pratique…:D
Eventually I will provide more information on these modelling and animation software, maybe I am mistaken but to me they are some kind of bridge between the drafting software, that was my bread and butter of my so called ‘career’ and the Art practice, that brought me much pleasure, but not much bread or buttter and the money to buy them…:D
Quelque chose qui date, de heu pour le moment je ne peux le dire avec certitude…mes données ‘papiers’ de ma liste des oeuvres produites est quelque part dans une boîte de déménagement…je sais que je l’ai, mais la question est de savoir où….tout ce que je peux dire est qu’il s’agit d’une de mes rares aquarelles, Cindy Crawford, la photo a été prise le 27 décembre 2004…donc avant ou à cette date, mais pas plus tard…Il y a de bien nombreuses oeuvres qui datent, donc à l’occasion je compte présenter quelques unes, sinon toutes, ces vieilleries, du moins celles qui me plaisent en premier, les autres….on verra….
Some old stuff, some very old are waiting to be shown, will see if they are worthed, or at least I will occasionnaly present something that I do like…so a first one, I am not doing much watercolor, so a rare one, maybe some ink was used and diluted acrylic, not quite sure, not sure too of the date of this one, photographed on december 27 th 2004, so from this date or earlier, I do have some old paper record on all off my works, but it is somewhere in a box waiting to be unpacked…..so for now the only thing I can add is this is Cindy Crawford, some water based medium, size probably round 19×25 inches…eventually more info and others older goodies to come…the good ones, and maybe the not so good ones..will have to see for that if this will be…
Hum les deux expressions du titre se traduisent mal et semblent indiquer le contraire, en fait une esquisse du fond de mon imagination, essayé de corriger la pose avec mon logiciel de modélisation, j’en montrerai plus un de ces jours, mais cette pose imaginaire ne fonctionne pas très bien, mais malgré tout c’est bien amusant de ‘bisouner’ avec la tablette…
No the french and the english title don’t translate into the same thing, a sketch from the top of my imagination, and the pose does not work, even tried to reproduce it with my modelisation software, but still no go although sometimes I will put some of the work done with the software, could produce nice pic to work a sketch from them I think…so in the meantime, a sketch with a problematic pose but still quite of fun just ‘doodling’ with the pen on the tablet….
