Il y a de ces jours où l’on fait quelque chose toute la journée mais on peut difficilement dire quoi exactement, enfin un peu de tout, donc un peu de court pour un article, puis je me suis mis à dessiner avec ma tablette, que j’utilise mais trop peu souvent, début laborieux aujourd’hui, sur une esquisse commencé voilà bien des années, un peu comme tout ce qui est en cours maintenant, mais plusieurs sont finis ou près de…donc temps de faire des esquisses et trouver un sujet de tableau..
Some of these days, you do keep busy, but somehow you have almost nothing to show for it, so finally got to my graphic tablet, and reworked one of those old sketches left there to be finished, advanced or deleted…so here’s one of those, already started a few years ago, like much of my works in progress, but now at least quite a few of them are coming to an end, so I guess I am better making some sketches and see if I do feel take one of these into a full fledged painting…
Bientôt je devrais pouvoir commencer de nouveaux tableaux ou pastels, en attendant de nouvelles esquisses, faites avec la tablette graphique, les deux premières étapes, donc peu de temps consacré à cette esquisse.

Ou recherche de modèle pour un futur tableau, j’avais fait cette esquisse, le modèle est Julie, en fait j’ai fait un tableau d’elle au début avril, lors du ‘retour’…c’est d’après une de plusieurs photos d’elle trouvées sur internet….donc une esquisse, pour me remettre à dessiner à ce moment-là, les dernières esquisse sont plus pour garder la main, ou des études….donc peut-être qu’un jour ce sera un tableau, qui sait…
Or just looking out for a model for an upcoming painting, this particular one was done end of March, did a painting of her, Julie, but not from this photo, use one of the many I have featuring her, all coming from Internet, my source of models….so at that time it was more a sketch to get back to drawing after a long stop, now it is more to keep going or warming up, or sometimes quick studies to look more into part of the painting that may cause me some problems or just playing or fooling around…so drawing is like it is supposed to be, fun….

In the previous post, I did mentioned that I am working on a different model, and also I did came back to an old method, sketches or studies, I am trying to rekindle with it, so here’s a hint on the painting I am working on these days…
Une mise-à-jour de ce tableau, une version date du mois de mars, l’autre en mai, il me reste à ajouter ces deux photos au vidéo et diaporama, bientôt….enfin relativement bientôt…:)
An update, in fact two, on pic was taken in March, the most recent in May, still have to update pase, slideshow, video of this painting, should be done in a short time…I hope..:)
Quelque chose qui me trottait dans la tête depuis un certain temps….utiliser la technique d’atelier pour un sketch rapide d’après photo de modèle, l’idée étant de favoriser une approche rapide, donc devrait pas revenir avec une autre version de ce modèle, si j’en fais une autre, ce sera une toute nouvelle version. Certes plus long comme sketch que les poses de 20 minutes, mis environ 1 heure mais je pense que cette esquisse reste plus axée sur le mouvement au lieu de faire un portrait comme dans mes pastels ou les tableaux…donc devrait pas travailler celle-ci pendant des anneés…:)
I was thinking about that for a while now, taking a new approach to drawing models from photograph, so I am using the same technic as for life model session, same paper and medium, of course this is still longer than the long pose, about 1 hour but still I think it does have more the feel of sketching than a full pastel or painting, and I want to do more of them and spending less time on those…tired of having painting lasting 2 years…:D
Non pas avec le blogue ou autres, tout simplement reconnecté ma tablette graphique, pas seulement pour voir si elle fonctionne encore plus parce que le goût d’explorer quelques esquisses m’est venu…pense que c’est un bon signe…comme le printemps qui s »annonce, ah oui on est en août, le temps est passé où…disons comme un signe d’automne.
Not speaking of posting or blogging, not anything else other than my graphic tablet, so I think this is a good sign, like spring is around..oops time flies, almost mid August, anyhow I think feeling the need to draw even if it is not on paper or canvas is a good fall’s sign
Un modèle imaginaire, pas vraiment un designer de mode mais j’aime bien illustrer ces modèles de mode, réelles ou non et aussi explorer quelques fonctions de la tablette, enfin plutôt Photoshop, sais toujours pas si pour moi ce n’est qu’un outil permettant de faire un sketch en vue d’un tableau ou quelque chose qui en soit serait un véritable moyen de faire une oeuvre qui se ‘tient toute seule’, probablement un des innombrables questionnements inutiles…:)
Just some imaginary model, I am not a fashion designer, far from it, but I like drawing those fahion models, and of course trying to get more used to Photoshop as an artistic tool, not sure yet if it is just good for some preliminary sketches leading to a painting or actually another medium for creating ‘self standing’ work of Art, probably just another of those useless questions to myself…:)
Une autre esquisse, celle là je l’ai déjà faite en tableau à l’huile et aussi sous forme de pastel, pas tout à fait satisfait autant ici que dans ces deux autres versions précédentes..doit être un peu obsessif…:) Vais essayer lors de versions prochaines, de mettre un un peu plus d’informations, pour tout de suite…suis un peu las de taper sur le clavier…
Another sketch, Liz Hurley, yes I am a bit obsessed with her and this particuliar image, did it in Pastel, in Oil, each time a bit unsatisfied with those works, this one too…For now it is all I am going to say, a bit tired of typing this post…but I will probably put a bit more on those two like previous versions and other things maybe, so for now …click on ‘publish’…:)
Bon toujours un peu pareil, je me suis dit ce matin que j’élaborerais sur cette esquisse à l’ordi avec ma tablette, pense qu’elle deviendra un tableau, avant les prochaines…..si j’étais un politicien je dirais les élections, donc vais couper court, ce sera un tableau un jour, quant à l’utilisation de ce médium, on en reparlera, peut-être éventuellement, hum cela semble incertain…mais presque sûr que j’y reviendrai…
Well more of the same it does seems, this morning I was planning a post with all the version of this computer sketch, and give more informations on this medium, the way I use or intent to use it..but well time is lacking, and the only thing I can probably say, il will be a painting sometimes down the road or before the next elections, but I am no politician so I will just say that it will probably eventually become a full painting, seems a bit uncertain, but I am sure, almost…when…ah no I am not going to venture on this…

Bon, peut-être que TGIF, nous est plus familier, du moins pour ceux qui connaissent un peu l’anglais, quant à MDCV…passons…:) Lorsque je travaillais à Winnipeg un collègue avait un autre acronyme pour le vendredi…POITIS day…Piss on it Tomorrow is Saturday…traduction libre on s’en fout demain c’est samedi…évidemment maintenant que je travaille à mon compte, vendredi n’a plus la même signification mais c’est tout-de-même la fin de semaine…ouf….
TGIF is well used in English, don’t think so about MDCV (Merci Dieu c’est vendredi…) but when I was in Winnipeg a collegue had another acronym for TGIF, Friday was a POITIS day..Piss on It tomorrow it’s Saturday….now as a freelancer, Friday hasn’t anymore the same sense, but still this is the week end…and it was time to get there…
So to end the week a short post on a painting reworked in February, yes I am finishing with this back log for this winter month…a fashion painting, red coat…not popular on Independance day in the states I guess, not the same red coats of 1776….and she’s wearing boots, nothing unusual for one of my painting, but this one I really like the feel about it a bit dreamy, colorful and lot of colors weaved into others,,,well here it is…
Donc pour finir cette semaine, un tableau retravaillé fin février, oui j’en ai fini avec les choses en retard du moins pour ce mois d’hiver, un tableau, modèle au manteau rouge, feu, bottes, je sais rien d’inhabituel pour un de mes tableaux…mais celui j’aime particulièrement la manière que ce tableau se développe, un peu flou, les couleurs qui se mélangent une dans l’autre, enfin aussi bien en finir ici et présenter l’image.
Oui on annonce la première canicule de l’été à Montréal, alors quoi de mieux qu’un petit retour en février, ….un tableau retravaillé à ce moment là, l’article lui un peu en retard, après le dégel et avant la chaleur. They do forecast the first heat wave this summer in Montreal, so a short flashback to February to cool down things, a painting I did reworked then, the post much later like now…
Ce tableau a été commencé en 2014, oui comme ceux et celles qui connaissent bien mon travail, je travaille lentement et en plus par moment de manière très sporadique…mais là je suis sur une lancée…3 jours, peut-être 4 en terminant cet article…:D
This painting started in 2014, not unusual for me if you know a bit my work and the way i do work more or less regularly…at least now I am on a streak , 3 days in a row I did at least some painting, maybe 4 if I do get off my blog now….:D
But before a video, a quick one so no fancy effects and the basic windows photo apps doesn’t offer much in transition effects, more like none….Mais avant un petit vidéo, sans flafla, l’application photo de Windows offre bien peu de possibilité pour les effets de transition, en fait aucune…
