Liz…ou Stella ou en jeans….Liz or maybe Stella and in jeans now

Certaines séances, on dirait que je ‘vire sur le top’…..expression utilisé par ici…du moins de certaines personnes que je connais….Ah ce tableau de Liz, qui selon certains commentaires que j’ai reçu, serait une autre modèle, Stella Gellant, pas sûr que je l’ai bien écrit…avec la tête de Liz photoshopé…moi c’est plutôt l’ensemble qui soudain me fatigue…trop long le manteau, les bas filets, je trouve que ça va pas, un peu trop figé etje ne sais plus trop où aller…pis là on dirait que je suis parti sur une autre tangente, avant cela m’arrivait après quelques verres de vin ou de bière, maintenant cela arrive tout seul mais moins souvent maintenant, peut-être que j’en ai gardé des traces permanentes 🙂

Au risque de tout perdre..j’aurais pu faire quelques sketchs sur ma tablette graphique pour ‘tester’ mais comme ces artistes athletes qui voltigent d’une barre à l’autre travaillant normalement avec un filet mais là on enlève le filet. Bon, on se calme je ne risque pas de me tuer ou me casser la colonne ou autre…seulement d’être content ou regretter d’avoir été ‘si intrépide’…:)

Sometimes it seems I just go wild, at least not being too careful, this is the case here, why, not sure, maybe because some readers point to me that the photo I am using for this painting of Liz Hurley, well it is not her, her face yes but the body belong to somebody else, some model a bit more ‘fetish’ style, or maybe I tough her coat was taking too much or cluttering a bit too much my background, did not care much either for the fishnet stockings, difficult to paint and somehow did not thing it was adding something good, so I launch myself into the air like an intrepid voltige artist…ok not that dangerous, I won’t kill myself crashing to the ground if I don’t catch the other swing, no fillet because I don’t need it and maybe my model doesn’t need them too, so now she’s wearing a pair of jeans, and why not getting rid of this long coat cluttering the lower left of the painting…

A few years ago these changes happened often, due in part by not planning much my composition and letting carried out by taking a glass of wine or beer when painting, ok with 1 or 2, more seems to bring the impression that you have a much better view or idea of what I should have done with a painting, now not much difference…I can do it without wine or beer…

Évidemment, je ne me répèterai plus, vous le savez maintenant que j’ai été absent pendant un certain temps, j’étais là , non je n’avais pas été enlevé par des terroristes ou des extra terrestres, mais durant le confinement, je me suis laissé ‘capturé’ par des jeux et surtout mon nouveau casque de réalité virtuelle, donc je devais être, virtuellement bien sûr, sinon je serais bien mal en point aujourd’hui, dans un jeu tel que celui ci, plus souvent qu’autrement j’étais dans le décor plutôt que dans le chemin, les simulations sont belles et captivantes trop, cela sans compter les jeux de vol et autres, même été dans l’espace…peut être qu’éventuellement j’écrirai plus sur ces choses, certes intéressantes mais peut-être un peu trop captivantes et pas trop bonnes pour la motivation à dépoussiérer et désencombrer un atelier de peinture…

Yes you do know by now that I have been kind off line during a fairly long time, not entirely but in a large part due to things like a VR set and some games, that in virtual reality are very, way too much, captivating…of course there was also this Covid confinement and others things, but lets say that a bit too often I was on and off, mainly off the road, in this game and other like flying game, in the air or space…good thing it is virtual, I don’t think I would be in a very good shape If I had to go through all those crashes and other mishaps…and of course it is not a very good thing when you try to clear the workshop of all those things that were blocking my access to my painting easel…maybe more eventually on those, when use with moderation…hum remind me of something my doctor told me about something else, it is a lot of fun and those 3d and VR artists really do nice works, to keep you playing or simulating in those games…

I have a few posts on preparation, but this one is a bit unplanned and it was for a first version of a reworked painting, I will have other versions coming soon in the next few days, about this model wearing a white beret, not related I think to the Beret blanc catholic group here in Québec, or green, red or black beret of military type….no something more subtile and gentle….

J’ai quelques autres articles en préparation, celui-ci est un peu improvisé, c’est un tableau d’une femme portant un joli béret blanc et d’un char….donc rien à voir avec des bérets noir, rouge ou vert ou des char d’assaut, seulement une modèle, plutôt élégante, son béret blanc, qui aussi n’est sûrement pas relié aux bérets que portent les membres d’un groupe ultra catholique ici au Québec, les bérets blancs, je ne peux l’affirmer mais je suis pas mal sûr qu’il n’y a aucune affiliation d’aucun type entre elle et ce groupe.

Nébuleux….Nebuleous

Un autre des ‘laissés pour compte’, de retour sur le chevalet, je ne suis plus trop sûr du nom de cette nébuleuse, Pismis 24 ?, je devrais faire mes recherches, ce n’est pas encore une ‘série’ de tableaux et pastels, seulement la 2e….donc quelque part entre la peinture abstraite et figurative, je ne peux me résoudre à faire de l’abstrait, enfin c’est probablement le plus près que je m’y serai approché. Quant à sa localisation je vous reviendrai plus exactement, mais c’est sûrement à quelques centaines d’années lumière de mon atelier….de ce temps ci ce sont les deux meilleurs endroits où laisser l’esprit vagabonder ou se réfugier, dépend des jours….j’essaierai de confirmer avec la suite, car bien sûr, pas tout à fait terminé ce tableau, du moins aujourd’hui, c’est mon opinion…

Another one that is coming back from far away, not as far as this nebulae is probably located, probably a few hundreds light years away, quite a long way from my atelier, both places are kind of nice and quiet places for my mind to evade or take refuge, depending the news and how I feel that particular day….As for the nebulae I do have to check is identity, I think it is called Pismis 24, probably a picture coming from the Hubble telescope, I will try to come back with the information in another post, because of course it is not quite finish.

Mais une nébuleuse, c’est nébuleux, c’est sa nature, on ne sait pas, on pourrait peut-être y voir un ou des modèles, comme celles que j’aime bien peindre, ou des sous-marins, longue histoire qui court avec certains amis proches, ce serait une longue histoire, un jour peut-être que j’écrirai sur cela et montrerai quelques exemples, mais non je ne l’ai pas fait, pas de modèles portant des bottes, apparemment un thème récurant dans mes tableaux ou des sous-marin, tout simplement je me suis amusé avec les mouvances de formes et couleurs et c’est relaxant à peindre et à regarder je présume, la photo du ‘modèle’…

A nebulae is kind of nebulous, it is by his nature…at one point I used to hide things in my paintings background, could be a model wearing boots…a recurring theme in my paintings I think, or one or many submarines…long story with some of my close friends…maybe one day I will write on this and show some samples…but not this time, this is just a nebulous mass of gaz, excellent for just getting loose with forms and colors, I did forget how it can be relaxing just painting and going with the flow, I think it is also relaxing just looking at it.

Maybe I should not post the original, I start comparing and start wondering if I could do it better or different, bof it is ok, just keep going, it is not a matter of life and death…:)

Ce n’est peut-être pas une bonne idée d’afficher l’original, je me mets à comparer et me dire que je devrais ou j’aurais dû faire cela autrement, bof j’imagine que ce sont de bonnes questions à se poser et rien de bien dramatique au fond…:)

Reprendre après trois ans, parfois plus, un tableau, est toujours un peu une aventure et comme j’ai toujours eu comme habitude d’avoir plusieurs oeuvres en cours, c’est un peu comme un téléroman, chaque tableau ou pastel est une histoire qui revient de plus ou moins loin. Dans bien des cas la trame est la même, se remettre dans l’état d’esprit du jour où je l’ai travaillé la dernière fois, dans bien des cas j’en reviens à me demander, pourquoi tu avais fait cela….

Coming back to a painting 3 years or more in many case, is not that easy, to that I can add that due to my way of working, I always had many pieces in production at the same time, working on one than another and so one, like a tv serie, of course each painting has his own story, but there is always the same issue for each, getting back to how I felt or what I was thinking then, sometimes I wasn’t thinking about anything in particular.

Comme je l’avais fait sur plusieurs tableaux, il semble que j’aimais reproduire en partie le modèle ailleurs dans le tableau, maintenant faut croire que cela ne me plaît plus…..

As I was doing a few years ago, it does seem that I was fond of adding part of the model somewhere else in the composition, now it does look like that this idea is not that appealing to me anymore…

Donc oui une partie du modèle est en voie de disparition, au moins cette disparition est moins inquiétante au niveau de la biodiversité….je ne commencerai pas ici à parler de cela, je ne saurais finir cet article dans un temps raisonnable….quant au modèle en disparition, on verra avec la suite de ce tableau, dans quelques semaines, dans un nouvel épisode de la série….

So yes part of the model is disappearing, at least this one is not endangering our biodiversity, I won’t start here…if I want this post to finish in a reasonable time table, it is better for me and you that I keep that for another post or medium….As to know if it will be a complete disappearance, don’t miss the next episode of this breathtaking serie….ok not that breathtaking….

Une de mes favorites, que j’ai peins ou dessiné quelques fois, quoique moi le premier je ne crois pas que ce soit une ‘grande’ actrice….ici un tableau fait d’après une photo tirée d’un film intitulée Austin Powers…le premier, je ne sais trop le titre, pas grave…

La version datant de quelques années…The last version, a few years ago

Sais pas je n’aimais plus le fond et son visage, sais pas quelque chose m’agaçait, quant à savoir si je pouvais l’améliorer ou l’empirer, je sais que ma force n’est pas en tant que portraitiste, les vêtements et les bottes, selon certains certaines, je les peins bien, quant aux visages, c’est toujours un peu hasardeux, donc il fallait bien que j’aille voir…je l’améliore ou je réussirai qu’à le rendre encore plus disons encore moins réussi…

I don’t know a few things did bother me, the background, maybe it was a good idea three years ago, not sur now, and her face, I am not a great portraitist, it does seems I am better at clothes and boots, according to certain followers and friends,,,,so what can I do about that face, I thoughted that I could do better or scrap it very good…have to see…

Maintenant on est là, hum le verdict, j’aime mieux attendre la prochaine fois que je placerai le tableau sur le chevalet…The result, well I do prefer to wait a few days when it will be back on the easel…

Un autre tableau qui est resté dans l’ombre de l’atelier….et la poussière, donc dépoussiéré et ajouté quelques touches…..que dire de plus, une image vaut mille mots, donc je me tais…:)

Another of these paintings, that was left alone in the atelier for a long time, collecting dust, so removed the dust and of course added some paint, what can I add to that, well there is a saying that an image is worth a thousand words, so I will stop here…

Une mise-à-jour de ce tableau, une version date du mois de mars, l’autre en mai, il me reste à ajouter ces deux photos au vidéo et diaporama, bientôt….enfin relativement bientôt…:)

An update, in fact two, on pic was taken in March, the most recent in May, still have to update pase, slideshow, video of this painting, should be done in a short time…I hope..:)

MDCV…TGIF

Bon, peut-être que TGIF, nous est plus familier, du moins pour ceux qui connaissent un peu l’anglais, quant à MDCV…passons…:) Lorsque je travaillais à Winnipeg un collègue avait un autre acronyme pour le vendredi…POITIS day…Piss on it Tomorrow is Saturday…traduction libre on s’en fout demain c’est samedi…évidemment maintenant que je travaille à mon compte, vendredi n’a plus la même signification mais c’est tout-de-même la fin de semaine…ouf….

TGIF is well used in English, don’t think so about MDCV (Merci Dieu c’est vendredi…) but when I was in Winnipeg a collegue had another acronym for TGIF, Friday was a POITIS day..Piss on It tomorrow it’s Saturday….now as a freelancer, Friday hasn’t anymore the same sense, but still this is the week end…and it was time to get there…

So to end the week a short post on a painting reworked in February, yes I am finishing with this back log for this winter month…a fashion painting, red coat…not popular on Independance day in the states I guess, not the same red coats of 1776….and she’s wearing boots, nothing unusual for one of my painting, but this one I really like the feel about it a bit dreamy, colorful and lot of colors weaved into others,,,well here it is…

Donc pour finir cette semaine, un tableau retravaillé fin février, oui j’en ai fini avec les choses en retard du moins pour ce mois d’hiver, un tableau, modèle au manteau rouge, feu, bottes, je sais rien d’inhabituel pour un de mes tableaux…mais celui j’aime particulièrement la manière que ce tableau se développe, un peu flou, les couleurs qui se mélangent une dans l’autre, enfin aussi bien en finir ici et présenter l’image.

Première canicule…first heat wave

Oui on annonce la première canicule de l’été à Montréal, alors quoi de mieux qu’un petit retour en février, ….un tableau retravaillé à ce moment là, l’article lui un peu en retard, après le dégel et avant la chaleur. They do forecast the first heat wave this summer in Montreal, so a short flashback to February to cool down things, a painting I did reworked then, the post much later like now…

Ce tableau a été commencé en 2014, oui comme ceux et celles qui connaissent bien mon travail, je travaille lentement et en plus par moment de manière très sporadique…mais là je suis sur une lancée…3 jours, peut-être 4 en terminant cet article…:D

This painting started in 2014, not unusual for me if you know a bit my work and the way i do work more or less regularly…at least now I am on a streak , 3 days in a row I did at least some painting, maybe 4 if I do get off my blog now….:D

But before a video, a quick one so no fancy effects and the basic windows photo apps doesn’t offer much in transition effects, more like none….Mais avant un petit vidéo, sans flafla, l’application photo de Windows offre bien peu de possibilité pour les effets de transition, en fait aucune…
