Accident heureux ? E-0020 la suite et version alternative… Happy mistakes ? more to it, E-0020 an alternate version…
Finalement j’ai décidé de continuer à travailler la forme extraite du fichier, seul ‘rescapé’ de ma gaffe…je trouvais, trouve, je pense, l’effet intéressant, même modèle mais une approche bien différente…je mets toutes les étapes que j’ai conservées en fichiers…si je les retravailler encore, ce sera un diaporama bien fourni et une autre version…en noir ou rouge, presque un roman…:)
Finally, decided to pursue working on the extracted shape from my original file, the only thing recovered from my goofy attempt….I think, more or less sure, but I would tend toward more…that it does have a certain appeal, working on the dark shape of the model, resulting in something quite different, will it be good, maybe I will add to it, will see, in the meantime the four images I have saved presented hereafter, If I do continue, should be able to make a nice slideshow…almost a novel ? roman in french….:)

Non pas pu récupérer ce que j’ai perdu de manière un peu stupide faut bien que je l’admette; je l’ai donc refait, cela m’arrivait aussi en travaillant sur un tableau ‘physique’ de perdre des choses, pas de la même manière, mais je devais aussi reprendre, donc rien de nouveau sous le soleil….la version retravaillée…
No I was not able to get back what was stupidly lost yesterday, so I have it redone, this did happened a few times, many while working on ‘physical’ canvas…not the first time, and when that happened, it was in other ways, all different ways to lose something, so I did what I am used to do, I have it redone…so the updated version…
Je n’ai pas retravaillé les bottes et le manteau, je me garde cela pour une prochaine fois….par contre cette fois ci j’ai fait une utilisation un peu plus poussé des calques, un peu comme sur un tableau, on devrait, je dois admettre que je le fais bien trop rarement, commencer à placer le fond et laisser sortir les détails par la suite, trop souvent dans mes tableaux anciens, je peignais les détails beaucoup trop tôt et je devais constamment revenir en arrière, repeindre et refaire les choses plus détaillées, et souvent en prime je modifiais la scène ou changeait la pose, donc mes tableaux me demandent un temps fou…en digital, les calques on peut les conserver, faut seulement penser à travailler sur le bon, quoique comme je l’ai expérimenté, on peut toujours éditer et copier sur le bon calque… oui je le sais, je triche…:) donc trois images pour illustrer cela, au total cela donne ce qui est présenté au début de l’article…
I did not work much, if not at all on the bottom part, boots and coat, will keep that for next session…but did some extensive work on hair, face, eyes, fur collar and background, all that using layers to isolate each part, a bit like I should have done more often in ‘real painting’, getting the right tones for the background and working out the details, of course for most of my paintings, I could never stick to that, always getting into details too soon, realising that something is not right, bothering me, and overpainting it and redo the whole thing again, and often adding or modifying the scene or pose…so a painting is still taking me forever to complete…here I was more controlled, using layers, so just have to make sure I am working on the right one, if not, not a big thing, could always do erasing, adding or plain cut, copy and paste…yes cheating…:) So the next 3 images show the layers, the whole thing and layers being on producing the sketch presented at this post’s beginning.

Accident heureux…? An error, an happy one ?
J’essayais de travailler sur une esquisse pour se mettre dans l’esprit de Noël….oui cela s’en vient, oui celui des campeurs mais aussi le vrai…dans quelques mois… Donc retravaillé une esquisse, et la photo du modèle, tout en expérimentant avec des outils Photoshop que je connais mais que je voulais approfondir….
I was trying to work on one of my in progress sketches, a bit in the Christmas spirit…crazy ? maybe but it is coming, soon for campers, a bit further down the way for the real thing, so was experementing on different Photoshop tools, layers, masks etc, on the sketch but also on the model photograph….
Mais pour le moment je ne peux que montrer l’ancienne version, l’ordi était lent, eu la bonne idée d’éliminer les historiques, un moment d’éclipse du cerveau, je pensais libérer de l’espace et redonner vie à l’ordi au lieu de faire comme d’habitude, fermer et redémarrer…au retour je constate avec consternation et en me maudissant…que je n’avais rien libéré, sauf le travail que j’avais fait sur la photo du modèle et bien sûr, tout ce que j’avais dessiné de nouveau…:)
but for now, no new material to show, the computer or Photoshop was slow, it does happen after a while, usually, I close the program and start again, this time, I guess I could call that a momentary laps of reason, I did flushed the history of the three files I had open, thinking it would free the program memory, it did not, but it did free all I did today…:)
Mais au moins, j’ai tout de même récupéré quelque chose, que je trouve intéressant, soit un masque, créé dans Photoshop, soit la forme de la sélection du moment, soit le modèle, une forme noire tout simplement, sur laquelle j’avais commencé à dessiner mais seulement certains traits, ou en ajoutant un peu de couleur, tout en utilisant les outils pinceaux et doigts, un comme on étend du pastel, ici des pixels bien sûr, moins salissant…parfois je me demande si c’est plus de la technique, on est loin du chevalet et pinceaux ou batonnets de pastel, et parfois j’ai l’impression de tricher, mais au fond c’est le résultat qui compte et si cela me plait, je pense que je ne devrais pas avoir de remors…:)
But at least I did recover something, I found the result, even if almost by accident, quite interesting, is it more Photoshop technic than ‘Art’ sometimes I feel I am a bit cheating maybe it is, but I like the result, so I guess that’s the only thing that should count…As for the technical aspect it is a mask made on a Photoshop layer, exported, so you have a black shape of the selection, the rest, a bit of drawing, bits of colors is me drawing, painting with the tablet…using mainly the brush tool and also the finger tool, a bit like spreading pastel with your fingers but here of course, I am spreading pastels…
Donc Art ou technique, enfin les deux, peu importe les outils pense que c’est de l’Art…après tout c’est le nom de mon blogue…:D

En fait c’était la deuxième esquisse que je commençais, avec celle d’hier j’en ai 38 dont une qui est terminée….pas vraiment un bon ration de finition, cela devrait s’améliorer, enfin ce ne devrait pas être difficile à faire…une de terminée depuis 2014…:D
Actually, it was my second one, with the one started or transferred from a painting, I have now 38 sketches, but only one officially finished…1 over 38 since 2014, not a great ration of completion, I guess I should be able to improve this soon, It should not be that difficult, and not a great accomplishment…:D
En attendant la dernière version, cette fois ci, je fais un usage un peu plus poussé, mais relativement peu des calques, en me servant de ceux ci afin d’isoler des types d’éléments…normalement j’aime mieux ne travailler qu’avec un seul calque…le goût du risque, oui il y a la possibilité de perdre des choses, mais honnêtement rien de si dangereux, pas comme un équilibriste qui travaillerait sans filet…:)
Now the most recent version for this sketch, this time I did used some layers, useful to isolate disparate elements like hair over the skin, the background, things that may overlap, etc, usually I do not use them, more like a trapezist working without a net, ok I guess losing what I did draw is not life threathening like a falling of the rope into the void…:)

Marylin, Mnemosyne et Resa…oui, mais….yes, but…
Édité ce tableau, qui est là depuis bien longtemps, donc des corrections, quoique le changement le plus important, est que l’atelier n’est toujours en place, oui je ne réussi toujours pas à prendre le temps de le terminer, plus facile de modéliser en 3d des modèles ou de prendre ma tablette et de travailler des esquisses, faudrait que je prenne finaleemnt le temps, donc oui en attedant, c’est retravaillé à la tablette, probablement que si vous avez remarqué l’appellation de l’image, c’était déjà un indice, donc plus un document de travail, ou plutôt une version distincte, un tableau toujours dans le même état et cette esquisse, de travail ou ce sera une oeuvre bien distince mais traitant les même sujets…pour le moment, je suis indécis…donc l’image est lié au tableau, pas fait de page encore pour cette esquisse, cela viendra si l’indécision quitte….:)
Did reworked this painting, yes, maybe you did noticed something odd, but if not, it is quite understandable, not too many changes yet, but if the oil strokes do seems bezard, it is because they are not oil brushes strikes, the Atelier is not yet set up, I should take the time to do it, but seems I cannot come around this, and most of the time I do end up drawing with the tablet or modelling models in 3d…so that is why this oil painting is now reworked as an Digital art sketch…a working version to continue the painting, or maybe something that will stand on his own, maybe both, at this time, I don’t know, indecision….for now the image is linked to this painting page’s, when the indecision is over…there will be a page, it the decision is to go ahead with it…

Ces quatre esquisses ont en commun d’avoir été faites un peu avant ou après le déménagement, entre une désinstallation et une réinstallation, non encore finalisée, donc une période un peu difficile, la tête plus ou moins, parfois pas du tout à produire, cela s’est réflété dans une autre absence de blogue, mais on se dit, faut bien garder la main ou le stylus…peut-être qu’il n’y aura pas de suite à ces quatre là, à voir…peut-être retourneront elles dans le fond de la cave virtuelle de mes disques durs….
Theses four sketches do share something, they have been made at a time when I did not have to much my head set to produce art, or blog as a matter of fact, they span the trouble period of leaving an old time appartment and moving to a new place, desinstallation and an still unfinished reinstallation…I don’t know at this time, if there will be a follow up on these, they are more like something I did telling myself have to draw something, even if my mind was anywhere but there…time will tell if they go to oblivion or not…

Une autre esquisse, laissée de côté, depuis août 2015…sortie des catacombes de mon disque dur…je m’étais dit, je la sors et je dis qu’elle est finie…eh bien non…la nouvelle version 2024…
Another of those sketches, from August 2015, that was a good year for me in sketching, lot of them dating back to there, I told myself, get it out, share it and say it is done…well it did not happened…the 2024 version, probably not the last…but maybe…
La version précédente, août 2015, je n’étais pas sûr de conserver son ‘ombre’, que je trouvais un peu trop visible, donc au lieu d’effacer fait copie du calque intégralement et sur un autre, seulement la copie…qui est devenue tramée donc moins visible..évidemment cela ressemble pratiquement à de la tricherie, je ne pourrais faire cela sur un tableau, en fait je l’ai fait souvent sur plusieurs de mes tableaux, au coût de nombreuses heures à peindre sur du vieux, et contrairement au digital, la copie est perdue, moins je peux la rendre plus ou moins visible, oui tricherie que permet ce medium, mais je pense que cela reste tout-de-même de l’art…du moins je le crois…
In the previous version, from August 2015, there was a copy of the model in the background, did not like the strong copy, would rather have a pale copy, so I did made a few layers, one to keep only her ‘shadow’, applying a trame to this layer, did subdue the copy, I guess this is a bit of cheating, cannot do that on a physical painting, yes we can but not keep it apart…I guess a bit of cheating does not change that this is still art…I think…:)

La suite d’hier… Yesterday’s follow up…
Continué à dessiner cette pose imaginaire, quoique en essayant de m’inspirer du rendu, original et ceux modifiés, d’un modèle 3D, logiciel DAZ, modèle au nom poétique de Genisis 8…comme mentionné hier, la pose n’est pas vraiment la même, de plus les proportions de mon modèle imaginaire, quoique assez réalistes, ne correspondent pas à la pose, pense aussi que les deux modèles ont des morphologies différentes, celle que j’ai imaginée est plus élancée, enfin pas très utile pour étudier la pose mais assez intéressant pour qu’éventuellement j’utilise plus ce logiciel, afin d’avoir une agence de modèle, bien virtuelle, mais bien à moi…et d’utiliser des rendus pour créer.
Still working on the same one than yesterday, I am trying to use the render generated by Daz Studio, and the model Genesis 8, very poetic as a name…difficult to use the pose though, I know my model is imaginary but her proportions are I think quite realistic, on the other side, the Genesis model seems to be quite a bit less elongated, so difficult to match poses, would have has to work again on the rendering, instead I did some manipulations in Photoshop to modify the rendering made using a black background, it does help for colors and textures, I am using them to somewhat inspire me, I think those renderings would make good reference images for future projects, will see…
May as well show the previous version of this sketch and one of the manipulated render of the would be model for this one, but could be good for a new one…

Voulu l’accompagner d’une pose faite dans un de mes logiciels 3d, l’image est pas si mal mais peu utile, donc continué selon mon intuition et j’ai ‘posé’ mon modèle en imaginant la pose et le flou qui meuble le fond…on verra ce que cela donnera…
I did tried to make a similar pose from one of my 3d models, to help continue this imaginary one, the rendering is ok but not that helpful, so I kept going using my drawing done from the top of my head, trying to figure by myself if the pose is ‘ok’…as for the background, I kept it nebulous, like a garden or anything else, even a nebulae if it was full of stars…:)
