En approche finale…In final approach…

La veille, le jour de Noël et le Boxing day, j’ai fait quoi, ben peindre évidemment, et ce tableau est comme on dit en aviation, en approche finale, Il y a longtemps que je n’ai embarqué dans un avion, mais je me souviens que c’était l’expression utilisée lorsqu’on approchait de l’aéroport, avant l’atterrissage proprement dit, le pilote annonçait  ‘mesdames, messieurs nous sommes en approche finale, veuillez attachez vos ceintures, et veuillez cesser de fumer, oui ça fait un bout que je n’ai fait un vol, donc c’est un peu le cas avec ce tableau…qui est tout près de son arrivée….attachez vos ceintures, cesser de fumer..en fait j’ai jamais fumer, la cigarette du moins….

Christmas Eve, Day and Boxing day were good for painting, and as for this painting, it is as they say in aviation, in a final approach, from what I do remember the last time I took a flight, when coming close of the landing point, the  pilot would annonce ‘we are now in final approach, fasten your seatbelts and quit smoking’, yes it was a long time ago…so I think this painting too has been on for a long time, and it is in the final approach…we can’t see the strip lighting….quit smoking…in fact I never smoke, cigarette anyhow…

La lumière en haut à gauche ne vient pas de la piste d’atterrissage, mais plutôt de la lampe de l’atelier, désolé pour le reflet…et le diaporama et la photo / The light in the upper left corner is not the airstrip lighting, just a reflexion from the lamp beside the easel, sorry for the glow,  and the slideshow and photo.

Quelques esquisses de plus de ce modèle connu mais dont je ne dévoilerai pas encore le nom et la photo, mais j’ai fait deux sketchs de plus, et cette fois j’ai pensé à sauvegarder au moins ces deux versions, donc voici les deux dernières, la plus récente en premier…

Non pas un goéland aussi populaire que Jonathan Livingston…par contre il a quelque chose de spécial, à Eureka, les goélands étaient particulièrement affamés, voraces et sans peur, le cuisinier, lors des rares journées où ils faisait cuire des steaks sur le BBQ devait surveiller ses steaks car lui et ses congénères tentaient de s’emparer des morceaux de viande et ce sur la grille toute chaude…j’ai déjà vu des batailles féroces entre eux et les sternes pour s’approprier des restes de nourriture, et aussi une journée où des poulets congelés ont dû être jetés au dépotoir, question de date d’expiration, c’était vraiment tout un spectacle de voir les sternes et les goélands tenter de s’arracher l’un et l’autre leurs précieuses prises congelées…

No, not a seagull as well known or special as Jonathan Livingston the Seagull, just an ordinary seagull living near Eureka, up north, although they were fierce fighters, sometimes with the Jaegers, or even with our cook, those rare days where he was able to cook some steaks on the BBQ, him and his seagulls friends would try to snatch the steaks off the BBQ hot grill, and take off with the meat, the cook was waving them away with his knifes and long forks…a real show, but not as good as the one we had when we had to dump some old frozen chicken to the dump, there was a real battle between the Jeagers and the Seagull, each one trying to make the other loose his precious deep frozen prey….

Je n’ai pas l’habitude de…Usually I don’t…

De laisser l’actualité prendre la place de mon art, photo, ou autres, et pas que ce soit l’événement le plus horrible qui soit arrivé, malheureusement les actes de barbarie ont été nombreux et le seront encore malheureusement trop fréquents, la violence prend trop souvent le dessus sur le bon sens, et la paix. Probablement que d’avoir lu tant d’articles aujourd’hui ‘JE SUIS CHARLIE’ j’ai voulu faire ma part…je ne sais trop quoi dire au sujet de ces assassinats, toutes les tueries, quel que soit le motif invoqué, sont toujours des actes barbares insensés avant tout, finalement la seule chose qui me vient à l’esprit est l’espoir, que le sang répandu partout dans le monde depuis des années finira par faire jaillir quelque chose de beau, et qu’un jour le monde sera meilleur, et pas seulement pour une poignée d’individus, mais j’en doute fortement,…en attendant, comme je ne sens pas très à l’aise à écrire, militer, ou tenter de changer le monde, paresseux un peu et un peu désillusionné , je vais faire comme d’habitude et me réfugier dans ma peinture, mes illustrations, la photo, caresser mon chat qui s’ennuie le jour….

Let the news take the place of my  paintings, illustration and other things, and even if this is an ugly act of senseless violence, of course I am talking about Hebdo Charlie, and it is not more violent or ugly than many other killings that happened almost by the dozens every year, not even talking about wars, military or civil, that are waged constantly, or simply out of their mind fools who will shot children in a school, women who dare to study, or any other senseless act of violence, so probably from reading the many post about ‘JE SUIS CHARLIE’ i felt I had to do one of my own, started and got stuck on what to write, it is in french, but mainly ‘from the blood spilled, something will come out, I don’t know what, but hopefully something that in the end will be something good for everybody’ I know it is almost ‘Flower Power hippy like thoughts…I am not good at writing essays, or debating, and I am a lazy militant, who rather click on a link to endorse a cause, I should do more, but I will end up rather taking refuge in my painting, illustrations, and now caressing my cat who missed me all day long…

Encore une fois, bien peu de temps pour peindre…donc je me suis dit que je ferais un sketch avec ma tablette graphique, et que cette fois-ci ce serait plus ‘réaliste’, pourtant c’est un de mes modèles favoris, mais plutôt qu’un portrait il est sorti de cette courte séance une vague impression de la pose, et pour garder le mystère, je ne mettrai pas la photo du modèle, probablement plus tard lorsque je m’y remettrai, encore une fois dommage que je n’ais pas pris le temps de sauvegarder quelques versions, tout  change tellement rapidement avec ce médium…l’image..

Again not much time for painting, so I did a quick sketch with my tablet, my first intent was to make something more like a portrait, and I used a photograph of one of my favorite muses…but seems that this will be for another time, it came out more like a figure drawing, just catching a vague impression of the pose, but I think it has some interest, I will probably try a more realistic approach eventually, I just have to remember to do what I did not do tonight…saving a few versions, everything change so quickly working in this manner…the image

C’était la semaine avant Noël…It was the week before Christmas…

Bon j’avais écrit que je présenterais la version finale du tableau des deux Cindys…un mensonge pieux,,,je vais scinder la fin en deux ou trois articles, selon mon manque de temps plus ou moins prononcé…donc à ce moment là je me demandais si c’était un peu d’acharnement? oui possible, mais je crois que dans ce cas-ci c’est bénéfique…et j’aime tellement peindre leurs cheveux, visages, robes et bottes de mes deux Cindys…passion frôlant l’amour, enfin en n’oubliant pas que ce n’est qu’une image, qui je l’espère fera un tableau des plus réussi…:)

Yes I said that I would present the final version of this painting, but I have decided to keep a few in bank in case of I found myself as usual short of time to do my things…so at that point I was feeling a bit of relentlessness with this painting, not always a good thing but for this painting, I think it is doing some good, and besides I like so much painting their hair, dresses, boots and trying to get their faces of my two Cindy’s, I guess passion, almost love is what I feel for this   painting, or I could have wrote them, but I have to remember it is just a picture, which I do hope will become a well made painting…:)

Gribouillage…Doodling….

Un autre gribouillage, au début je les nommais sourillage parce qu’ils étaient faits dans Photoshop avec la souris, maintenant ils sont faits à l’aide d’une tablette et d’un stylet, devrais-je les appeler styletouillage…hum peut-être seulement croquis à l’ordi, avec une dose plus ou moins forte de modifications dans Photoshop, donc une autre des mes modèles imaginaires, je sais elle a toujours le même style….mon imagination est parfois obsessive…:)

Another doodling, at first in french I called them ‘sourillage’ because they were done with the mouse (souris), now they are made with a stylus, doodling is still more appropriate than styloodling, sounds bad in English and the French one too, so I guess they are just sketches, with the help of my tablet and more or less Photoshop modifications…so another of my imaginary model, I known she look like the others, I guess I must be obsessed with this imaginary  model….:)

Flashback…encore…again…

Dimanche soir, 7 décembre, oui un autre ‘flashback’, encore une fois, une autre semaine qui s’amenait, donc j’essaie de préparer quelques articles, celui-ci porte sur le tableau des Cindys qui progressent mais qui n’est pas encore rendu à la fin, toujours la question, je suis pas mal certain que je peux encore l’améliorer…à moins que je ne déciderais que c’est suffisant, toujours la même question…:)

sunday  night, December 7 th, yes another ‘flashback’ and another week was about to start, as usual I am trying to prepare some posts in advance, so this one is still about the two Cindys, it is coming along pretty good, but still I am confident that I can improve it, always the same question, and the answer is still very elusive, is it finished, to which point I can take it? Maybe I will simply decide that it is alright the way it is now…but I doubt it…:)
