Dissocier ou rendre une esquisse sur plusieurs calques afin de faciliter le travail, rend parfois le travail un peu abstrait, comme ici avec le fond isolé et édité….
To separate and put things on different layers, hopefully to help working later, can lead to something a bit abstract, like here with the background edited and isolated…

Laisser quelques calques intermédiaires ouverts, fait passer le tout d’abstrait à une abstraction presque lugubre, avec une partie du modèle seulement affichée, et en plus en parties dissociées…:)
When you leave a few intermediary layers on, it is still abstract but with an almost creepy look with parts of the model showing through, in dissociated parts…creepy..:)

J’avoue qu’avec l’ensemble des calques affichés, c’est plus rassurant, bien sûr cette fois ci j’ai pensé à copier le corps du modèle avant d’éditer les fonds….on apprend…:D
With all layers on and everything still in one piece, this time I thought about making the copies I did need on different layers before getting too much involved in editing, the result so far is more reassuring to me…:D
Elle date de quelques semaines, je la gardais pour une de ces journées où le temps passe vite et je me rends compte que je n’ai rien de prêt, trop de temps passer à essayer de figurer une boutique en ligne sur WordPress et une sur Weebly, mon autre site qui sert de ‘librairie’, un peu plus sur cela plus tard, dans quelques jours j’espère…
It has been ready for a few weeks now, was waiting for a day where time flies to fast and I do end up looking for something to publish, did spent quite a bit of time trying to set up online shops on WordPress and my main repository site Weebly, it is coming along but slowly…more on that hopefully in the next few days…
Une des rares esquisses, que je n’ai pas encore repris depuis plusieurs années, donc une nouvelle version, c’était une pose et modèle imaginaire, la première que j’ai commencé, appliqué la même technique que j’applique récemment, soit utiliser un modèle que je pose dans mon logiciel 3D, pas vraiment pour en faire une copie conforme, plus pour résoudre des problèmes de pose, en fait j’aimerais reporter dans le logiciel 3d un peu de mon esquisse, soit entre autres les textures, je l’ai déjà fait, cela ajoute une touche bien personnelle…à suivre, aussi je sais que l’on peut créer en 3d des éléments à utiliser dans ces logiciels, beaucoup d’exploration encore devant moi et de plaisir, faut bien s’amuser afin d’agrémenter un peu la vie…beaucoup…:)
One of the few of theses long forgotten sketches, not many now were left untouched over the last few years, I am getting to them, still for this one, the first started from an imaginary model and pose, I have used again my recent way fo using my software to pose in a close but not a copy of what I did draw so far, more like a pose reference to help solve some posing issues, but I think at the end I am getting some kind of hybrid result, should play again with transferring back some elements of my sketches into the modeled one, I did it a few times, I know it is also possible to modify or create new items, my technical drafting background should be of some use in this, so still a lot to do and have fun, must have some fun to embellish lifte isn’t it, a bit if not a way lot more….:)

Manipulations, from one of a recent digital sketch version, I did those 2 versions, using Photoshop tools of course, but also some, maybe quite a bit finally, input from me, using brush and finger tools, maybe some burning and dodging tools as well…exploring…

Pour faire différent, je me suis dit pourquoi pas un modèle mâle….ah oui, par contre je dois dire que la nouvelle série ce sera des esquisses d’après photo de mes chats, ici le premier que j’ai eu, maintenant parti….Pinceau.

Deux nouvelles esquisses, pour le moment que des fonds pour le reste qui viendra…est-ce qu’il y aura un ou des modèles ? L’avenir le dira, quoique la probabilité est plutôt….enfin vous verrez….en fait il est tout-à-fait possible qu’elles soient là, dans un calque d’arrière plan caché ou tout simplement ‘fermé’, pour le moment je me suis surtout contenté de faire des essais avec les outils de calques dans Photoshop…donc pour ce soir, je vous laisse avec ceci…
Two background for two new sketches, so far mainly playing with layers and effects in Photoshop, models ? maybe, maybe they are even there behind some curtain layer…and then maybe not…I guess we will have to wait, wait and see…but the probability are…I am leaving you for now on this…
Je ne sais plus trop combien de fois je l’ai utilisée comme ‘source d’inspiration’ Liz… semble que ce serait une 5e fois, donc repris cette esquisse, pour le moment cela semble presqu’un désastre, mais je parlerais plutôt de reconstruction, création de calques et autres tâches d’édition, on verra bien le résultat final…
I am not sure exactly how many times I did uses a picture of Liz as an inspiration source for something to draw or paint, according to what I have written a few years ago, it would be the fifth time….anyhow, did rework this sketch, at this point it may look like it went backward, and is turning into a disaster, but I would rather qualify it as a reconstruction, seperating items by layer, so the upcoming stages should show some improvements…at least I do hope so…:)

Et le calque de fond, sur lequel je me suis permis un peu plus de liberté…and the background plane or layer, since other elements are on different layer, I can take a wilder approach treating this background layer…I don’t have to bother messing up the model, hair, and facial items, which do need much more work…

Les canicules à Montréal, me ramènent en pensée au Grand Nord canadien, dans le cas de cette photo, au Nunavut, quoique en 1984, c’était encore les Territoires du Nord-Ouest….une station météorologique, maintenant abandonnée à Mould Bay, non je ne voudrais pas y être pour des semaines, mais je prendrais bien quelques jours au frais, même si depuis le temps, je ne sais pas si aujourd’hui, la température serait aussi fraîche, certains diraient froid, oui là-bas j’ai déjà vu un blizzard le 11 juillet…mais aujourd’hui, je m’en plaindrais moins ou pas…:) La photo, oui édité dans Photoshop….
The hot weather in Montreal does often wish I would go back there, there is Mould Bay, Nunavut, then it was in the North West Territories, that was in June 1984, it was much colder than here today in Montreal, to me it was fresh, for many it was just plain cold…true I did saw a blizzard there on July 11 th of the same year…I would probably not want to go back for weeks or months, it is a bit too long and you start missing family and friends, but I would not mind for a few days, but now this weather station is closed, and maybe the weather is not as fresh as it use to be….so a pic from this place, yes it is Photoshop edited…

Finalement je me suis dit que je pourrais commencer une esquisse, j’en était presque rendu à dessiner sur des calques superposées à la photo originale, donc une nouvelle esquisse, pas de modèle…tout simplement un paysage arctique…je me demande avec appréhension de ce qui est devenu de cet endroit depuis le temps…
Finally, since I was almost getting to the point where I was creating layers to be drawn on, I have decided it was better to strart from scratch a new sketch, a rare landscape, no model here except the landscape and some vague souvenirs…I am a bit weary when I think about this Arctic site and wonder with apprehension what have become of this beautiful place, even if it was very isolated, and winter was very, very long, seems it never ends there…

Yes it is in a very early stages and I did fooled around quite a bit with layers in both pics, the reference photo and the sketch, even if it does not show here yet…
Oui c’est au tout début, il semble y avoir bien peu encore plein de possibilités, faut dire que j’ai passé pas mal de temps à expérimenter les calques, effets, masques, et autres bébelles, surtout sur la photo référence, dans le cas de l’esquisse, l’effet des calques est pour le moment presque inexistant…
