La chose…The Thing…

There was some of those days, and up there they can last up to six months, or is it these days?, this is one of the English language fine detail I had and will never master I guess, but I am french so I guess this is ok…., so back to this day, that maybe, the only thing I could though is, ‘Kriss, faut que je parte d’icitte…’ translated from french quebecois as ‘put in the swear of your choice’ and … I got to get out of here….!!!!’ Honestly, thirty years later I can’t tell what was my mood on that day, maybe I just want to go away, or maybe I was thankful for being there and enjoying something very few people had the opportunity to live…or maybe you can imagine something similar to John Carpenter The Thing’ movie’s…and on that helicopter is a mad man trying to shoot a dog…but of course it is not a dog, just a dangerous polymorph extra-terrestrial entity escaping the station, but as an extraterrestrial being marooned on this planet for a while, I don’t think it is the case, at least it is not from a known species on my planet…:)

Eureka! Je sacre mon camp!…I’m leaving…1983-05-xx, #050-10_1983-05-xx-R

November, often it is grey and damp, and tree are bare, leaves are gone, but somehow I found this tree with its branches , big and small, intertwined, were giving me a nice thing to shoot, it was also my first and only color film that I developed, most of the pics do have a greenish tint, not very apparent here…photoshop and fall did the job….:)

La prochaine fois….Next time…..

If ever we can come back in another life, this time I want to be a pigeon, of course not anywhere, but in Saint-Marc place in Venice….well fed, you can fly and look around the waterways and buildings, unlike the ones that are living under bridges and tunnels in Montreal, kind of dangerous, the infrastructures in Montreal are crumbling…and besides the Venitian winter is not as harsh as the Montreal winters…of course there is a drawback, I don’t like large crowd, and I guess I would have to fight with other pigeons to get my share of what tourists are willing to buy and ditch all around, finally I would probably retreat to a more quiet place, so maybe It is not that good an idea for me, may as well keep minding my human business, preparing lunch, washing dishes and trying to figure out when i will be able to retire and have enough money….have to go to bed now, working early tomorrow…after all the Venitian pigeons have it pretty good, they don’t seem to worry much about anything…the photo that inspired these stupid thoughs…

Les arches… Arches….

It was somewhere in Munich, can’t really say where exactly, and around the end of novembre 1986, I guess it doesn’t really matter, I thaw it was making a nice composition and maybe a good black and white photograph, hope it did…

Temps pour….Liz? Liz, time for her I guess…

Sometimes, I almost felt like I am in love with my models, or my canvas of her…but of course I would not go to a restaurant having diner with a canvas….that would be very silly of me, I am not that crazy….instead I have the supper delivered at my place…and I keep painting her…

Bien sûr que je vais vous montrer la photo d’Elizabeth et le diaporama / and of course, I will show to you her photo and the slideshow made from the previous pics.

De retour à Venise…Back to Venice..

Oh I would like so much being there in person but I guess I have to content myself with the old pictures that are coming out from my scanner, a bit dusty, but photoshop is there for that, and I just don’t know if one day I will have the chance to go there again, so for the moment, it will have to do…

Le château d’Heidelberg, une autre…Another pic of Heidelberg Castle…

Another photo from the Heidelberg Castle, I imagine I could have spent a few days shooting it from all angles, actually I do have more pics of it, they will be presented in the near or distant…future.

Still have issues with my old ‘Welcome’ and ‘blog’ pages on my main site on Weebly…maybe I will have to create new ones if I cannot get things fix, so in the meantime I create new pages, maybe I will have to scrap the others one, don’t know yet…so in the meantime here’s another pic from the Cherbourg Port, at dusk, a bit of fog seems to be rolling in, the photo backgroung is a bit out of focus, my mistake…but let’s pretend it was intentional to add to the general mood of the photo…:)

A photo after the storm has left, nothing special for a weather station up in the arctic, but it was July 1984, it was 32 degrees celcius in Toronto, warm and humid, here in Mould Bay it was minus 6, usually we have a few months where the snow is gone, little flowers grow and it does look like a cool , but sunny summer…more like spring….but this day the short live arctic summer took a break….and that morning when I did push the heavy door of our barrack I though I wasn’t quite awake when I felt something like blowing snow in my face….
